3 jobs that I would do, other than being a mama

1) I would LOVE to be a fitness/nutritionist coach to unhealthy families and kids. An "all around coach" that would grocery shop with them so I could teach about nutrients, lead them in fitness instruction, force them to "ommmm" in yoga to balance their mental health...a dream job

2) To work for a school department and float from class to class instructing on important nutrients in foods. Not just "calcium is good for your bones..." I am talking a step by step explanation (on a kids' level) on how pumpkin "mush" provides vitamin A for different body parts and its' effects. I would love to provide the hands on learning required for kids to "want" to eat healthy. Whether that requires having kids blend and try green smoothies or reading and deciphering labels, I want it to be hip to be healthy. Yet another dream job that doesn't exist in this area. See a trend forming??

3) Anything in the entertainment industry. how fun :)....

what I want to be when I grow up

1 When I grow up I want to be a vet because I love animals and I take good care of them.

2 When I grow up I also want to work in fashion because it would be so much fun and I have great new outfit ideas.

3 When I grow up I also want to be an author because I love to read and write and I have some awesome stories in my head.

Kyle's week to come up with a blog idea....

So it was my turn to come up with a blog topic...it was not as easy as I thought it would be.  After all, this blog may be read by millions of people someday...that is a lot of pressure to come up with some earth shattering topic that will have people glued to their computer monitors.  With all the pressure I naturally procrastinated until the last minute and decided to go with a "fill in the blank" format.  I wrote four statements with one or two blanks in each for the family to complete...so here they are along with my entries:

away from home- the annual family trip. It doesn't matter the location as long as it is warm...

Something about the sun, going to dinner, ice cream by the pool, slowing down...

home- family meals. although it doesn't happen as often as it should, and 99% of the time people do not sit still or hate the food, it is nice to have a routine that the kids can count on. Love our “something we did today journal”.

Bucket list and goals for 2011

So leave it to my mother to start bucket lists with my kids. I had gone into a doctor's appointment while my mother sat with the three kids in the car. I was gone a mere 20 minutes and came back to two full lists of things my children want to do before they die. I have never made a bucket list..or have seen the movie. Nothing that would have ever occurred to me but after hearing my kids' lists, it made me think this might be a good way to reflect and prioritize. 
Family assignment?? 
I asked the kids to write out (and narrow down) their bucket list and also to add 3 attainable goals for 2011.


Bucket List for Mama (some what fantasy)

• do a rock and roll marathon (even if its walking...I do not care about Boston, I want to hear music at every mile)
• live in another country with my family for 1 year (not thinking the kids will go for this one, but hey I can dream
• learn another language (see number 2)
• go away on a yoga/feel good retreat (for like a month) 
• swim with manatees 

goals for this 2011:

• put pictures in frames or albums
• have friends over for dinner once a month
• paint the downstairs hallway
