Poetry? Well....not really

Because we are new to this whole blogging thing, I thought I would keep week 1 simple. I am giving each family member a little "assignment". Devyn is learning about poetry in school and seems to be making acrostic poems out of everything. Remember those things?? For example: E-A-T...
E- excellent
A- at
T- the table
Yes, that was off-the-cuff....hold your applause.
So the task of the week is to come up with an acrostic version of Christmas. I know Kyle will groan and roll his eyes when I "assign" him this one but the kids will do it and get into it, that I am sure of.

Kyle's CHRISTMAS

C = Cameras everywhere
H = Happy kids
R = Ron and Pat's house
I = Insanity
S = Spending time with family and friends
T = Total chaos
M = Mom and Dad
A = A lot of memories
S = Snacks

Mama's C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S

Here is my acrostic CHRISTMAS poem:
C- C is for candid, lots of candid photos
H- H is for ham, a common meal that grosses me out
R- R is for radiant faces on kids
I-  I is for "issue". Hoping that who has the most gifts will not be an "issue"
S- S is for Santa. Had to add him in there. I have fielded enough Santa questions on his behalf
T- T is for talking. Holidays get families talking
M- M is for men. Kudos to the men who get stuck dragging the tree out the door, trail of needles behind
A- A is for Astronaut. Sorry that's all I've got. Landon talks about being an astronaut non-stop these days
S-  S is for Starbucks. Going to miss those little red cups

Landon's poem

These are all his words. I simply asked him "What starts with C...."and so on....

C- cat
H- hotty
R- run
I- ice cream
S- snake
T- turtle
M- Mrs. M
A- apple
S- sir
